A house full of stories

More than anything, this project was about one client's love of books. Rather than treating a collection of more than 10,000 as something to be hidden away, the aim was to make it feel like a natural part of the home. Alongside the main library, we also created a library for her grandson, creating a space where he could begin his own collection.

The project extended to almost every room in the house, from a custom kitchen island and custom library shelving to new lighting, window treatments, paintwork, wallcoverings and a carefully layered mix of vintage and contemporary furnishings.

The aim wasn't to make everything feel new. It was to create a home that felt personal and layered, as though it had evolved naturally over time.
